A Prayer Of Gratitude

It started like every other morning, nothing out of the ordinary. You know how some people wake up and say they felt different or could sense something was about to happen but could not put their finger on it? Like an omen? Well, that did not happen to me.

I woke up that morning feeling great; it was another beautiful day and I was ready to kick-start it in style. I got out of bed picked out my clothes and started getting ready. It was the crack of dawn and I was excited to beat the traffic that characterises a typical Lagos work day.

Finally ready I left the house without a second thought that it could possibly be my last time. I hailed and hopped into my “extreme sports” car, as usual, a tricycle (Keke). We had been in it for only a little while when I heard this loud noise and felt a jolt in my back.

Instantly I had an out of body experience. Still trying to make sense of the whole situation, I got out of the tricycle (Keke) only to find out that we had just been hit from behind by a car. Apparently, the driver had been busy with his phone and did not look up in time to see us right in front of him.

Then it dawned on me, I had been in an accident! The thought of all the things that could have gone wrong came rushing at me; I could be dead or badly injured, but here I was standing without a scratch. I am #grateful that the car driver was not speeding; I am #grateful that the tricycle (Keke) was not damaged, hence, I am #grateful that we were all safe #ThankfulTuesday

God is serious about taking care of us; therefore, we need to be #grateful for all His mercies and His blessings. Psalm 91 vs 11 (MSG) – He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go. If you stumble, they’ll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling…

What are you #grateful for this 1st quarter? Perhaps, it is even something you are looking forward to. Join us as we pray this prayer of gratitude (Biblestudytools.com)
