Beggar CEO

Yes, I saw them with my eyes, these begging chief executive officers or CEOs.

CEO 1 is standing by a car (his?) in the mall’s parking lot, narrating how he’d spent a lot shopping and needed help with a little extra cash to get some fuel for his car.
I met CEO 2 in one of the outlets at the mall. She managed to conceal herself from the scrutiny of security to make her pleas for handouts.

Sure you’re surprised at these narratives, but who is a CEO? By Wikipedia, ‘the CEO is the most senior corporate, executive, or administrative officer in charge of managing an organization – especially an independent legal entity such as a company or nonprofit institution’.

On www.huffingtonpost.com, the CEO was described as ‘the highest-ranking executive manager in a corporation or organization. The CEO has responsibility for the overall success and livelihood of the entire organization. The CEO has the ultimate authority to make final decisions for a company’.

Basically, the CEO is the captain of the ship/plane/train/ business – the CEO’s the boss. The one at whose feet or desk the buck stops. The success of every business rises and falls with the CEO. So, because he or she is the driver and the one that gives strategic directions to the entity. Everyone looks up to the CEO for directions, for nods, for revenue and salaries.

CEOs 1 and 2 are executives in their own rights but the paradigm shift has not happened to place and help them operate in the right dimensions. All things being equal and given the right circumstances, CEOs 1 and 2 could be applying their skills and temerity running any entity, directing people, being the CEOs indeed, making loads of money and impacting lives.

See, that seemingly insignificant, inconsequential, not-needed fellow near you, given the appropriate conditions (right or wrong), is a game changer. That fellow can transform the world.

What about you? Are you a CEO, do you have it in you? Are you a game changer, a legit wannabe or like CEOs 1 and 2? It requires a personal making-up-of-the-mind and deliberate efforts to be an influencer, to activate your potentials.

If your mind is made up and you’re committed to it, you will become as you imagined. Tell us why you think a potential CEO could be begging…?

As much as it’s fun and rewarding being a CEO, it is one of the most tasking jobs, you just have to make the right numbers happen, and deliver the corporate objectives of the business with the right team and strategy.
