Divine Promotion

Have you ever waited or are you still waiting on the Lord for a breakthrough in a particular area of your life? Be encouraged with this scripture, Proverbs 23:18 (KJV), “…for surely there is an end; and the expectations of the righteous will not be cut off.

I had moved to my current department in January 2016 (my last promotion was in 2015) so I had expected promotion in 2017. It didn’t happen then. I was a bit disappointed and even though I was on the lookout for another job at a different organization, I still put in my best at work

I had been redeployed to a different team but I made sure I performed well in that year. In 2018 I was so sure of a promotion but it didn’t happen again

I was really really disappointed this time. I had to meet with my HOD to find out why I didn’t get promoted. She said so many things that day but I didn’t hear half of it. One thing that came out strongly from our chat was that I should TRUST THE PROCESS

Initially, I was bitter but after a while I moved on and left everything in God’s hands. I just focused on other improvements in my personal life and wasn’t bothered about the promotion again

After a few months, I got redeployed to another team and ensured I performed very well in my job responsibilities. Even feedback on performance from my stakeholders was impressive. Then towards the end of last year, I had some work issues, which put me on the verge of not being promoted

To cut the long story short, I received my reward letter last week and found out I was promoted. It came as a shock because I wasn’t expecting it, I had moved on and was trusting God for something else in my life which I’m highly expectant that He will fulfil for me and my family

I’m indeed grateful to God and this experience has deepened my understanding of this statement – Keep on trusting God for your heart desire, in due season he will perform his word and bring it to pass

Are you going through a rough patch? Don’t forget that:

  1. Delay is really not denial
  2. God doesn’t work with our timeline. If He said it, He will bring it to pass
