Sudden Recovery

I received a phone call on Saturday 8th December 2018 at about 8 am in the morning. My elder brother wanted me to meet him at Onipanu Police Station. “Why?”, I asked out of curiosity. “I have found Mr Tayo”, was his response, “and I dragged him to the station.”

That name rang a bell, the criminal ran away with my ₦1.3million in 2010, 8 years ago. I gave my brother the money for a particular investment. When he came back a few weeks later, the money was gone. Someone he trusted and even accommodated for more than 4 months had deceived him, diverted his business interest, introduced something else to him, got the money off him and disappeared into thin air.

I was sad and devastated and I cried a lot that terrible period. It was money I had saved up for my study abroad. I had saved it over the years from my petty trade. I saw my dream torn apart, how dare he? That was absolute wickedness.

It was difficult but I moved on and God has been good. Then God visited the chapter again and here he was the object of my pain back then, in police custody here in Lagos for a crime he committed in Warri, Delta state 8 years ago. He thought it was over but God, the chief judge has opened his case file.

Those around felt he should pay back with interest, I just want my capital. He didn’t look like life had been good to him. He paid part and initiated a payment plan after spending a night in a cell and so much plea from his family.

Our God is indeed Adakę Dajo (The God that passes silent judgement on the wicked). He is also the God of recovery. In 2 Kings 6:1-7, we see him bring the axe head off out of the water. Trust him to help you reward the wicked and recover it all. It doesn’t matter how long it takes. Whatever it is that has been taken from you, be it relationship, money or even reputation. I see God visiting that issue correcting the mistake and vindicating you.

Join us in our #gtatitudechallenge as we thank God daily for His bounties. Thank Him in advance for that restoration and see Him move.
