The Contact Lens of Faith

Ever wondered what beauty would have been like without contact lenses? I mean, they help give us a look that is fierce, bold and sexy at the same time. Most ladies who wear them, do so for aesthetics, hence they try to make it match their outfits.

I used to have 4 different colours, one to represent the mood I wanted to elicit. The honey-coloured ones were my favourite, they made me feel sweet and cool or should I say, pretended to make me feel…? I also had the blue ones; that was when I wanted to look strange, unapproachable yet attractive.

The Christian eyes wear an imaginary pair of contact lenses. Yes, it’s a popular saying that the eyes reveal the soul.

However, the Bible tells us that: “The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.” Matthew 6:22

Simply put; see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil. Be positive with your outlook on life. See the good in every situation, no matter how ‘bad’. See the good in people too, so that you can love them unconditionally as Jesus did.

Much emphasis is placed on the eyes. It is believed that the eyes are the windows to the heart… “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” Ephesians 1:18

When the word of God is the lens through which you see the world, all you will see are possibilities, solutions and breakthroughs. Wearing the contact lens of faith means seeing only good in the world because you have faith it is good!

When you put faith on, it is easy for people to recognize God in you. It is welcoming to those who do not understand what it means to let your light shine before men.
You’ll be able to behold wonderful things and marvel at the marvellous works God will be doing in your favour.

When your eyes beam with faith, love becomes you. Nothing worries you and your skin actually glows. People will recognize the light in you, they will see that God is indeed good and faithful. They will be encouraged to join you in your new-found glow.

As women, our eyes reveal a lot about our inner selves. Even when we suffer, it’s hard to disguise it. When we are in love, the eyes sparkle. So when you are in love with God, be sure that your eyes will reveal that too.

What do your eyes reveal, faith or failure? Have you ever given a thought about what people see in your eyes the first time they encounter you? Do you give them a glimpse of hope or a sting!

Let your eyes be a pathway for others to see how good life can be when you love God.
