The “Mistake” Of Being Perfect

The "Mistake" Of Being Perfect

WARNING: Explicit Spiri-Koko Content Follows

Two weeks ago we discussed how it may be difficult to learn from your mistakes because things constantly change and only God’s omniscience remains the same. As we continue with the theme of “Understanding the Season, we must “gbos” our own “gbas” to give you balance. You avoid failure and mistakes by walking in God’s wisdom, but you must learn not to even be so sin (mistake) conscious in the first place. The truth about redemption has not been emphasized lately in our local churches and denominations because of fear (an unwarranted phobia for freedom). Sometimes it’s an unconscious attempt to put the children of God in bondage to create a sin conscious attitude towards the great Father God. “Sin consciousness” is the mother of every religion. It makes the redeemed inferior because we feel unworthy to appear before a so-called invincible deity who determines the faith of man’s existence as He so wishes. Religion has dealt badly with man. Many people cut their bodies with sharp objects, hurt their fellow beings even to the extent of committing suicide or murder just to satisfy religion.

A man named Paul, one of the founders of modern Christianity and the man who had a majority of the Revelation of the mystery of God had this to say after thirty years in ministry. “Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.” (Philippians 3:6-9 NKJV)

This is as clear as day. Any law set for man to think he can please God is RUBBISH. The Greek word for RUBBISH is “skubalon” it means animals EXCRETA, aka “poo poo”. The love of God for humanity is devoid of human effort so Humanity doesn’t play a role in it; we only receive. John 3:16 was very clear about God’s love for us, found in the sacrifice of Jesus and not by our performance. He loved us as sinners, murderers, sexual immoralist, thieves, haters etc. He loved us as we were because He knows what we can be. This great affection made Paul say that God; the greatest being and judge In the universe calls ungodly, wicked men righteous all because they believe in His love found in the death and resurrection of Christ.

Romans 4:1-5 (OEB) “What then, it may be asked, are we to say about Abraham, the ancestor of our nation? If he was pronounced righteous as the result of obedience, then he has something to boast of. Yes, but not before God. For what are the words of scripture? “Abraham had faith in God, and his faith was regarded by God as righteousness.” Now wages are regarded as due to the person who works, not as a favour, but as a debt; While, as for the person who does not rely on their obedience, but has faith in Him who can pronounce the godless righteous, their faith is regarded by God as righteousness.”

First, your personal righteousness causes you to boast. Abraham the patriarch was wise knowing God is the only person that makes righteous not man’s efforts. Second, God calls ungodly men righteous because they put their trust in Him. Man’s effort is not needed, all that remains is for man to believe and receive this beautiful truth about God. Nevertheless –

2 Corinthians 3:17 (RSV)” Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”…

A much-grounded fact of redemption is that man’s redemption was not from the hands of an angry God. Our bondage never came from God, it came from three elements- sins, the devil and the laws of Moses that’s why Romans will say this;

Romans 8:1-2 (RSV) “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.”

The Spirit of God sets FREE and does not put in bondage. The testimony of the Spirit is the testimony of no condemnation.

Romans 8:15 (KJV) “for ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”

It means we are free from the punishment of sins.

Revelation 1:5 (RSV) “and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the first-born of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood”

John 8:34-36 (RSV) “Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not continue in the house for ever; the son continues for ever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.”

So we are free from the punishment of sins because Christ lives forever that’s why Paul will say this in Romans 8:31-34 (OEB) “What are we to say, then, in the light of all this? If God is on our SIDE who can there be against us? God did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up on behalf of us all; will he not, then, with him, freely give us all things?”

Who will bring a charge against any of God’s people? He who pronounces them righteous is God! Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us…

God is for us and never against us! Glory to God! We are free!!

Children Playing in Freedom

We are also free from the hands of the enemy and it’s on this basis we use the name of Jesus against any attack of the enemy.

Hebrews 2:14-15 (NKJV) “In as much then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

Hallelujah, we are FREE…

Any believer that is still in bondage from the dictate of the law is yet to understand that legalism is not of God!! That’s why Paul encouraged believers to STAND FIRM.

Galatians 5:1 (NKJV) “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us FREE, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

We are Free!!! Glory to God!!!

Romans 4:7-8 (WMNT) “Blessed,” he says, “are those whose iniquities have been forgiven, and whose sins have been covered over. Blessed is the man of whose sin the Lord will not take account.”

So God does not take a record of sins in Christ. That word “Blessed” means makarismos in the Greek. It was used for a deity in the Ancient Greek; it was used for a state of happiness and wellbeing because those gods they worshipped, they believed were above and never subject to any physical limitations like the mortal man was. It was used for God our Father. 1 Timothy 1:11(KJV) “According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.”

So that means no record of sins In Christ places us in The God class because God’s righteousness is the same as my righteousness. Not that we just did we received God’s righteousness but we became God’s righteousness in Christ. So we are God’s worthiness that’s why this verse of scripture by Paul makes sense in 2 Corinthians 5:21 (ISVN) “God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us so that we might become God’s righteousness in him.”

This is indeed Good News. What do you say? Come partake of this glorious life, ask Jesus to become your personal Lord and saviour today.

EDITORS NOTE: For the inevitable question that comes to mind after reading this. The answer is God-forbid. He that is free cannot continue therein.
